Career Summary

Emmy winning reporter Sara Goldenberg is an investigative reporter and member of elite investigative unit at Cleveland’s CBS affiliate, WOIO-TV, Sara joined unit after distinguishing herself as a breaking news and difference making reporter.

She joined WOIO from KNXV, Phoenix Arizona where she covered the heartbreaking story of the “Yarnell 19,” the wildland firefighters who perished battling a wildfire outside of Prescott, Arizona. Her aggressive coverage of mismanagement and delayed care at the Phoenix VA led eight U.S. Congress members to call for investigations into the hospital in early 2015.

Sara grew up outside Philadelphia but calls Ohio her second home. She is a graduate of the Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University. Sara, her husband Jim and young son live just outside Cleveland where they enjoy biking and riding in Cleveland’s outstanding Metro Parks and especially the NBA Champion, Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Indians and rebuilding Browns.
