Jessica Gavin is the very versatile evening co-anchor and producer at WLIO Lima, Ohio. Jessica joined WLIO from her mmj reporting position at WFIE, Evansville, Indiana. She lives to tell a good story. She is a terrific reporter with an anchor’s look and a commitment to make a difference. She joined WFIE in October 2014 after two years at WVNS-TV, Beckley, West Virginia.
Born in Miami, Jessica grew up in Hampton Roads Virginia and graduated from Liberty University, Lynchburg Virginia. She got very close to sports journalism after extensive sports reporting in college. But her internships at both WSET in Lynchburg and WTTG, Washington DC, guided her on a firm track to news reporting.
She says she is grateful for a such an interesting career. She loves that she can break news, tell compelling stories, and meet people who are making a real difference.
She’s interviewed presidential candidates, governors and senators and covered everything from the 2012 presidential election, Black Lung disease, hurricane Sandy, the Inaugural Boy Scout Jamboree at the Summit Bechtel Reserve, the Charleston water crisis and to the Greenbrier Classic PGA Tour.
When not on the clock, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family on the East Coast, snowboarding in the winter, wakeboarding in the summer, and watching local theatre. She is very involved in her local community as she serves on the board of the American Red Cross, is a “Big Sister” and a member of Lima’s Young Professionals.
