Career Summary

Abby Walton joined WCTV in June of 2014 as the 5:30 and 11 p.m. anchor/reporter. She also anchors the FOX 49 news at 10.

Abby was born and raised in the Hoosier state and attended Ball State University where she received her degree in Telecommunications News. She’s still very active with Ball State as a member of the BSU TCOM Alumni Board.

Before joining WCTV, Abby spent six years at WTHI, the CBS/FOX affiliates in Terre Haute, Indiana. There, she anchored the number one morning and noon show in the area. She also produced the noon show and reported.

Abby was awarded best news series by the Associated Press of Indiana for reporting on autism. She also received the prestigious Gracie award which is a national award given out by the Alliance for Women in Media.

When she’s not in the newsroom, Abby loves working out whether it’s Pilates, spin, or anything that challenges her. A self-described news nerd, Abby enjoys reading non-fiction books and her TIME and O magazines! She also loves T.V., movies and music. Her guilty pleasure is reality TV on E! or Bravo. She also loves to travel and spend time with her family and friends!
