Crystal Rosado Washington is an experienced broadcast journalist; a newsy’s “newsy” and a real people-person. She is passionate, empathetic and committed to finding information to inform the community. She easily covers daily news and has a real knack for delving deeper in covering politics, government, corporations, and community causes and events.
Crystal’s favorite quote is, “journalism is in fact history on the run” and on the run, she’s been too. She’s had the opportunity to work in several stations around the country with her military spouse. In between cities without television news openings, she’s flourished in another passion, Real Estate.
Crystal is a jacktress of all trades around a newsroom. She’s been a newscast producer, general assignment and beat reporter, anchor and host. She maintains social media networks and routinely pushes headlines to social media outlets. She is also a solid segment producer turning Medical Minute, Entertainment, and Military segments weekly.
Crystal is a military spouse who knows firsthand the sacrifices service members and families make daily. Crystal and her husband Captain Washington are wrapping up their military career and are looking forward to unpacking a few boxes one last time and setting down some roots.
Crystal is bilingual, English and Spanish. She grew in New York and Virginia in a Puerto Rican family. She believes in community and seeks to be a voice and a look-out presence for her viewers. She graduated from Old Dominion University with a degree in Communications and a minor in Criminal Justice. When not working, you’ll likely find her hiking with her husband, boxing in a gym pretending to be Floyd Mayweather, or walking Jasper, the family dog.
