Career Summary

Alexa Maslowski is adding "News Anchor" to her resume as she moves from Spectrum News 1's Cleveland Bureau to its Columbus hub. Alexa joined Spectrum Cleveland two years ago as multi media story teller. Spectrum News 1 Ohio is Ohio's latest 24/7 cable news channel venture based in Columbus. In Cleveland, Alexa is part of a multiple reporter team covering Northeast Ohio.

Alexa began her career in Portland, Maine as a multimedia journalist and news anchor. During her time in the northeast, she covered breaking news, severe weather, feature stories and consumer concerns. She earned a nomination from the New England Regional Emmy Awards in 2018 for her role in "Eagle and Oliver: An Ocean of Learning," a half-hour special she co-hosted and contributed to the shooting, writing and editing. That same special also earned an Edward R. Murrow Award.

Alexa graduated from Kent State University's school of Journalism and Mass Communication in 2016. At Kent State, she worked for KSU's student-run television station, TV2. Alexa served as the station's News Director, leading the station’s daily news coverage. Her work at school earned her a national win from the society of professional journalists and second place from the Hearst Journalism Awards.

Alexa was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and loves her Cavs, Browns and Indians. When she's not at work, Alexa spends time exercising, cooking and spending time with her friends.
