Career Summary

Emily Dwire joined the WOWT News team in late 2019 as the morning live-desk anchor.

From the studio, she reports on and updates breaking news throughout the morning newscast. She also slides over to the main anchor desk whenever she's needed.

She previously worked at WPTA in Fort Wayne, Indiana for 7 years where she was most recently the morning and noon anchor, as well as a producer.

Emily has covered an array of breaking news scenes, presidential visits, the George Floyd protests, and the impacts of the Coronavirus on families and communities.

Emily hails from Fort Wayne and graduated from Ball State University in 2012.

Emily is a lover of all music, but especially The Beatles. She loves Harry Potter and even got engaged in Diagon Alley at Universal Studios. She also loves to travel, go to concerts, catch the TinCaps, Komets, Colts or Pacers in action, try new restaurants, read on the beach and spend time with her family, friends and dog.
