Career Summary

Ashley Bornancin is the Breaking News Anchor / Lead Morning reporter for 13abc Action News, WTVG, Toledo Ohio. She reports on breaking news every morning, commanding the Over The Top anchor desk and creating compelling live-shots throughout the morning show, and serving as a multimedia journalist for dayside stories, turning new enterprising packages every day.

In addition to executing her daily reports, she is the main fill-in anchor on all shows across the board and created the weekly franchise segment, “Dine in the 419,” for the all-new 4PM newscast.

She is a true go-getter with the knack for creative story telling and audience engagement.

Ashley's resume combines television news reporting, writing, producing with an entertainment career, featuring network hosting and producing for BravoTV, lead & guest primetime acting, and voice-over work on productions we all know and love. She has also done extensive undercover work for NBCLA’s Get Garcia team and has interviewed everyone from the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, to John Legend, Gloria Allred, and the stars of most of your favorite TV shows.

As for love, Ashley’s long affair with journalism started when she was just 5-years old. What began as writing with her mother’s typewriter became weekly newsletters for the neighborhood. This passion for storytelling led her to Indiana University’s Ernie Pyle School of Journalism and later to Biola University in Los Angeles. There, she was awarded the Journalism Broadcast Scholarship and graduated as the EP and lead anchor of the university’s student news broadcast.

Ashley Bornancin was born and raised in Cleveland Ohio and though she is a self-classified workaholic. When she’s not working, you’ll likely find her in the kitchen with her Italian family, running in half marathons, and expanding her knowledge through travel and a love for languages.
