Career Summary

Katherine Amenta is the co-anchor of Pittsburgh’s top-rated morning news, the Channel 11 Morning News on WPXI. .

In April 2016, the Morning News earned the highest ratings of any morning news in the country. In 2015, she and her morning team won the Mid-Atlantic Emmy Spot News Coverage award for their coverage of the Franklin Regional High School stabbings. Her investigative and enterprise reporting received numerous Pennsylvania Emmy nominations and was the frequent winner of Maryland Associated Press awards.

She is a Philadelphia native and a graduate of Villanova University.

Katherine got her start in television as an associate producer at Comcast SportsNet in Philadelphia and as an anchor/reporter at WMDT in Salisbury, Md. Before joining WPXI, Katherine was a morning news anchor at NewsChannel 8 in Washington, D.C.

She grew up in West Windsor, N.J., and spent summers down the shore in Ocean City. A little-known fact outside her close friends and family, “On the Ocean City Boardwalk I worked as Mickey Mouse for three seasons!”

She enjoys movies, working out and especially spending time with her family.
